• Mabel Klimt continues as the firm’s Managing Partner
  • Former president Ignacio Diez de Rivera Elzaburu will continue in his role as Head of Operations

Alfonso Diez de Rivera Elzaburu is the new President of ELZABURU. He is a lawyer, chartered Spanish industrial property attorney and European Patent Attorney. He and his predecessor are brothers and descendants of the family that founded the firm more than 150 years ago. The change is part of a planned process of change in roles and responsibilities, with the aim of continuing on the path of growth and internal strengthening of the firm.

For the new president, the focus will be on offering the best solutions and services to build loyalty among existing clients and attract new business: “I take on this responsibility with great enthusiasm and with the peace of mind that we have a magnificent team of professionals who reflect the standard of excellence that we have achieved in our working methods and practices over the years”.

After a successful tenure, Ignacio Diez de Rivera Elzaburu is standing down from the presidency to focus on his role as Head of Operations and continue leading ELZABURU’s technologicial and digital transformation. This area of the firm has generated such important projects as ELZACLOUD and optimized the firm’s digitization in process and file management. “We have been technologicial pioneers at the cutting edge in the sector, and we now have the challenge of continuing to innovate in order to adapt quickly and efficiently to the demands of the marketplace”.

This change in the presidency is in line with the firm’s “Exciting Revolution” that began two years ago. Managing Partner Mabel Klimt explains: “we are following the roadmap we set out then, with the same enthusiasm and facing up to new challenges: to maintain the growth in clients and services in a sustainable and responsible manner and to be the benchmark for clients and colleagues in legal advice on intangible assets of all kinds”.

The firm will continue to promote research in emerging areas, such as artificial intelligence, the metaverse and blockchain, and it will continue to launch innovative projects that will be announced in the coming months.
